LIDW offers many and varied opportunities to hear leading experts discuss London’s unique role in the resolution of international disputes and also network with colleagues from around the world.
The 4-day programme includes a flagship 1-day conference entitled ‘London International Disputes: Present and Future’, to be held at a cultural landmark in Trafalgar Square, Central London, and 18 technical sessions at 18 venues across central London covering different types of disputes and forms of dispute resolution. GAR Live London and BIICL’s Investment Treaty Forum Conference will also take place as part of LIDW. The detailed programme is set out below.
To help you make the most out of your time at LIDW, we have created practitioner pathways that broadly cater for those interested in:
1 investment disputes and international law;
2 international arbitration;
3 litigation and other forms of dispute resolution; and
4 international trade and commerce dispute resolution.
There will be crossover between the pathways particularly as different forms of dispute resolution (such as arbitration) are used for the resolution of disputes in many different sectors. These pathways are colour-coded for ease of identification.
There is much on offer during the week, but places at each event are necessarily limited. In order to ensure broad access to LIDW, spaces are limited to: 2 people per organisation at each of the 18 technical sessions; and, 3 people per organisation at the flagship conference. Places at the LIDW-associated events will also be limited. As such, please choose your sessions carefully and consider liaising with colleagues in advance. Please also note that where LIDW sessions occur in parallel, your registration choice will be limited to one of the relevant sessions.
A registration fee of £100 (+VAT) is payable per person in order to be able to indicate which of the LIDW sessions you’d like to attend. Additional fees are payable to attend the flagship conference and some other LIDW-associated events—these are marked with a £ sign. We expect all LIDW sessions to be very popular. In the event that you do not receive a confirmed place at one (minimum) of the LIDW sessions you select (and, unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate preferences), your registration fee will be refunded.
In addition to technical sessions, the LIDW programme includes an opening drinks ceremony with keynote speeches (expressions of interest in attending are welcomed) and a gala dinner at Mansion House (which involves a fee). Look out for more social and networking events as they appear in due course.
